Ally Athletic is a veteran-owned company specializing in massage therapy services, located inside Platinum Fitness in Carlisle, PA. Ally Athletic strives to provide an affordable massage in a safe, welcoming, and accessible environment for all. In addition to massage, apparel with the company logo is also available to purchase, both in office and online, with portions going to a different charity each quarter.
Ally Athletic was founded in 2021 with the mission of giving back to the communities that need it the most. It started out as an apparel line with the idea that regardless of ability, sexual orientation, gender identity, race or color, we are all stronger together. The Ally Athletic logo is meant to be a moving safe space, particularly in the gym (hence the Athletic part of the name), where many people struggle to feel comfortable. Each quarter a new charity was chosen that benefited the disabled, BIPOC, and/or LGBTQ communities. In early 2023, the decision was made to unite the massage practice formerly known as Got Your 6 Massage and Wellness into the fold and operate under the Ally Athletic name, so that both apparel and massage would be going towards charity. It is a mission that continues to this day with hopes to work with and for more great causes in the future.
Charles Flowers, LMT is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served on active duty from 2010 until 2014. Upon leaving the service, Charles utilized his GI Bill to attend Lorain County Community College, obtaining an Associate’s Degree in 2015 with the intention of becoming a teacher. However, life has a way of changing unexpectedly, and in 2017, Charles changed his major to Massage Therapy and graduated from Stark State College in 2019 with both an Associate’s Degree in Massage Therapy, and a certification in Sports Massage. The goal was to charge a modest price, and work exclusively in the client's home, to make this valuable therapeutic tool both affordable and accessible. Charles became officially licensed in early 2020, just before the world shut down. Needless to say, this made accessibility more difficult, but also made Charles determined to figure out a way to still help others, and that idea would give birth to Ally Athletic and the donation portion of the business. In early 2024, Charles relocated to Harrisburg, PA before eventually setting up a space inside Platinum Fitness in Carlisle, PA, officially opening the first permanent home of Ally Athletic in August of 2024.
